The Pelicans started off extremely slow against the Nuggets, finding themselves down 11 after the 1st quarter. New Orleans is 7-14 when they trail after just the first quarter. However, that wasn't remotely going to be the worst thing that happened on the night.
At about the 2 minute mark of the 3rd quarter, this happened:
Davis was helped off the floor via the Nuggets' tunnel. Not good, right? Well, fortunately, Anthony Davis returned to the game early in the fourth quarter.
The @PelicansNBA Anthony Davis sustained a groin injury after collision/fall with #Nuggets Kenneth Faried. AD is trying to get back in game.

Despite his return, the Pelicans were not able to ride the emotionally uplifting display and were outscored 23-15 in the final frame to lose the game.
Anthony Davis finished with 24 points, 12 rebounds and 2 blocks, but he certainly didn't look to be himself upon his return. Tyreke Evans had an enormous 3rd quarter and finished with 25 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists.
On the negative side, Eric Gordon started 0-8 and finished 4-15. Ryan Anderson never got it going neither as he finished 3-10 without a single make from three.
Stay tuned for Zach's full recap coming up a bit later, but as it stands, the winning streak is over. Now, the team is about to face a difficult five game stretch on the schedule and there is a strong possibility Davis might need to miss a game or two.
