Trade Rumor: Ryan Anderson "Not Available"

Per ESPN, the Pelicans are not making Ryan Anderson available via trade

Richard Mackson-USA TODAY Sports

ESPN is reporting that Ryan Anderson is currently not available via trade. This should make Pelicans fans very happy, as David delineates in his excellent piece this morning.

Jeff Goodman:

Sources told ESPN.com that the Pelicans, after agreeing to a deal in principle to trade for Houston Rockets center Omer Asik, want to bring Asik in to form a three-man frontcourt rotation in New Orleans with Anderson and face of the franchise Anthony Davis.

But the Pelicans have shown no inclination to move Anderson even after striking a deal for Asik, who will be absorbed into cap space by the Pelicans next month in exchange for a protected first-round pick in 2015.

/Nodding furiously.

As much as Asik appears to be "the" center, I'd absolutely love to see Davis, Anderson, and Asik interchangeable with one another and the former two to each get minutes at the 4 and the 5. A situational late game closing lineup of Anderson/Davis/Asik sounds similarly delightful.

Now go get a draft pick, Pellies.
