Game Preview: Pelicans at Clippers

Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sport

The Pelicans play in their second game of a back-to-back against the Clippers Saturday night. Coming off a highly entertaining but emotionally charged game, New Orleans is going to have to be careful coming out a bit flat after falling in Phoenix.

This past Monday, the Clippers thoroughly beat up on us but that game's preview still holds largely true. New Orleans can't be overwhelmed in the paint, nor allow the Clippers to get easy looks from all over the floor. If there is a silver lining, Jamal Crawford, who harpooned us with 7 three's, could miss the game due to a strained calf muscle.

Some things to consider:

  • Will Monty keep Tyreke Evans in the starting lineup?
  • Will the Clippers be a little off their game, having played only once since our match-up Monday?
  • Can the Pelicans muster up the energy needed and display it for the full 48 minutes?
  • Will Monty play small at all or will he revert to his old generic game plan involving plenty of Stiemsma and some abhorrent lineups?
Geaux Pels!
