The Pelicans have been provided some luck in the schedule. After opening the season with a large if unimpressive win over the Orlando Magic Monty Williams and company had three days for rest, study film, and practice. The Pelicans will need a better performance on offense, especially at the free throw line, to beat their Southwest Division rivals from Dallas. Expect the Mavericks to provide a much more difficult challenge for New Orleans on defense.
