It's been a light news month, but there are some interesting stories out there:
- Jason Smith says he's anticipating being cleared for contact by the time training camp starts. Referring to his surgically repaired labrum, Smith said, "``It's all fixed; all better. It's just knowing that it is better, and I've got to go out there and trust it. I think that's going to be the big test going through training camp."
- Sactown Royalty takes a look back at the rise, fall and tempered expectations of Tyreke Evans's tenure in Sacramento.
- USA Today considers the Pelicans the 11th most watchable team. Yeah,it's pretty clear that we're hard-up for news in September, but it's still pretty unique to see New Orleans considered a "watchable" team.
- Dell Demps gave a tour a while back of the Pelicans' shiny new practice facility. It's a big deal not only for player development, but it's also really good to have these quality practice facilities so the Pelicans can attract free agent talent.
