NBA Free Agent Small Forwards Still on the Market

Kim Klement-US PRESSWIRE

With most of the Pelicans' rumored targets at forward coming to terms with other teams, the free agent market's starting to look despondently thin.

Via usnfish's latest in-depth analysis of the Pelicans' financial situation, here's where the roster currently stands:

Age 2013-2014 2014-2015 2015-2016 2016-2017

Brian Roberts 28 $788,872
Darius Miller 23 $788,872
Jeff Withey 23 $490,180
Pierre Jackson 21 $490,180
Total 23.4 $64,278,118 $57,946,057 $59,264,719 $26,507,487

New Orleans has essentially $3M left in cap space and $2.7M left via the room exception; those two things can't be combined. The team's most pressing need right now is likely another shooter, preferably one that's not a guard, and another bench big man with size would slot in nicely as well.

Here's a look at forwards on the market left. DRAPM is defensive regressed adjusted plus/minus (positive is good) through March 30 of this season, which can be found here.
