As expected, the New Orleans Hornets selected Kentucky power forward Anthony Davis with the #1 overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft. Davis has been widely expected as the selection for a month now, since New Orleans won the NBA draft lottery at the end of May.
His teammate Michael Kidd-Gilchrist was selected #2 by the Charlotte Bobcats, followed by Florida's Bradley Beal, and Syracuse's Dion Waiters at #4. With the 10th pick, a number of front court options are still available to the Hornets along with Duke guard Austin Rivers.
Regardless of what happens there though, the biggest piece of New Orleans future is now officially a Hornet.
Welcome, Anthony Davis.
