New Orleans fought to stay competitive until late in the fourth quarter, buoyed by strong performances from Xavier Henry, starting in place of Al-Farouq Aminu, Brian Roberts, Austin Rivers, and Jason Smith.
In sum, the bench contributed 48 points on 40 shots, 16 rebounds, 12 assists, 6 blocks, 5 steals, and just 3 turnovers. On the defensive end, they held Memphis' second unit relatively quiet, with the exception of former Hornet Quincy Pondexter (16 points on 6 shots).
Aminu was dropped from the rotation entirely, with both Henry and Darius Miler contributed strong minutes in his absence. It remains to be seen whether that'll be a long-term decision, but for now, the wild minutes oscillations for players like Miller continue.
Nico will have the full recap later.
