The Maverick Outlook

Today's opponent blurb comes via the excellent Mavs Moneyball and its even excellenter monarch/landlord/"mandorch" Lisa Rotter:

The Mavericks are somehow flying under the radar, winning 19 out of our last 21 games and sitting at 2nd in the West. While catching the Spurs seems damn near impossible, the Mavericks have to watch their backs because the Lakers are just a game and a half back and playing very well. Our wins haven't exactly been blowouts, but then again that's not our style. There have been games we were lucky to get out of alive, and some of them were against teams we should have beaten handily. Then again, not many teams can say they swept the Celtics AND the Heat this season. The other thing to remember is that the two most recent losses came from last-second buzzer beaters, so really we should be happy that we're doing as well as we are, considering we were without Dirk Nowitzki for nine games.

We are thrilled with how well our bench has been playing, and we are excited to see how our new acquisition, Corey Brewer, fits into our system in the coming weeks. The Mavericks are probably the deepest they've ever been, and playing some of the best basketball we're seen in a long time. But look, Dallas Mavericks fans know better than to make predictions or talk trash about how far we're going to go based on our regular season performance, so we'll just go ahead and say we're pleased with where we are and looking forward to the playoffs.

Thanks Lisa! And go check out Mavs Moneyball for the latest on our old friends, Predrag and Tyson. ... What? What do you mean? It's just a bit of dust, okay? Jeez.
