Chris Paul's Comments

As I'm sure everyone reading this knows, Chris Paul met with team officials today.  New Coach Monty Williams, Brand Spanking New GM Dell Demps, and Team President Hugh Weber had their first sit down with CP3 since rumors started spreading that the face of the franchise wanted out.

On his twitter, Chef Paul (best dishes in the NBA) said the following:

"The meeting went well.  It was great to get an opportunity to sit down with Coach Williams, President Weber and our new General Manager Dell Demps. I expressed my desire to win and I like what they said about the direction that they want to take the team.  I have been a Hornet my entire career and I hope to represent the city of New Orleans and state of Louisiana for many years to come."

While the statement is not as strong as, "I'm 100% committed to staying with the Hornets for the rest of my career to help this city win its first NBA championship," his words are quite refreshing given the media frenzy over the past week.

Since being drafted by the team in 2005, Chris has been a great representative of the city and the state.  I also hope he represents New Orleans, Louisiana for many years to come.  I hope he chooses to do that representing while wearing a "Creole blue" jersey.
