Hornets on the Internets: Rounding Up the Old (Charlotte) Gang Edition

Your morning links post. Happy Festivus

  • Festivus was created as a way to "celebrate the holiday season without participating in its pressures and commercialism." By the by, the Wire box set costs $75 today at Amazon. It's a Festivus miracle!

  • If you missed it yesterday, the old coach Paul Silas is also the new coach in Charlotte.
  • If that wasn't enough, A-Woj reports for Y! Sports that the Bobcats are considering a move for, yup, Baron Davis. No truth to the rumor that Glen Rice will be suiting up again however. Mostly because I just made that rumor up. But also because never believe a Glen Rice unretirement rumor.
  • Avery Johnson is apparently very happy in New Jersey, thank you. He also mentions that he'd like to see the Hornets stay in New Orleans and that he brought 30 people to last night's game.
  • Governor Jindal was also in attendance at last night's game. The New Orleans Business Council donated tickets, and reported attendance was in the mid-15,000's.
  • Bradley Handwerger has a great story for WWL about Okafor's importance to the team, and it opens thusly: "Emeka Okafor can talk to you all day about pilates, proper muscle stretching techniques and in all likelihood, how government worked during the Byzantine Era." If anyone is actually interested in that last bit, Wikipedia has a few thousand words on the subject. You know, just to brush up for the next time you run into Emeka.
