The Net Outlook
New Jersey is, despite the excellent play of Devin Harris and Brook Lopez, terrible. They don't shoot well, they don't take care of the ball, they don't rebound offensively, and they don't force turnovers. So expect this to game to come down to the wire.
I suppose the positives for the Nets are that they rebound well defensively and they get to the line often. This may or may not be canceled out by the fact that they may soon be trading half their team for Carmelo Anthony.
Subplots
- Avery Johnson. Haha.
- Marco Belinelli is basically Anthony Morrow's Italian clone. Check it, it's actually kind of creepy.
- New Jersey has already had 11 different players start a game for them this season. What the what?
- As a rookie, Brook Lopez grabbed 21.5% of all available defensive rebounds. Now in his third year, here's pulling down a putrid 12.5%. On the flip side, Robin Lopez averaged 12.1% as a rookie. Now in his third year, he's averaging 17.7%. Call it the conservation of Lopez.
- The Nets rank dead last in the NBA in attendance per game. (Not that it matters since this one is at New Orleans Arena, home to the third worst attendance in the league, but still).
- Go Hornets.
