I like to post these and I think that at least some people like to entertain the idea of them. This is a four team trade (huge but would be required to move around contracts and all). Plus it is exactly as I said hypothetical. I am just curious how many fans of the Pelicans would be interested in doing this trade.
Reasoning: With Jason Smith out for the season and his questionable future on the team it might be good to move his contract now to get Bass who is a very offensive minded big who can come off the bench and put up a double double under a reasonablish contract. You also get Michael Kidd-Gilchrist who is close friends with Davis and Miller and has all the hustle and heart you could want from a player. Bogans is an expiring deal and you get to evade the Gordon contract. Frees up minutes for the younger bigs as well.
Reasoning: Cap savings. They get out of Bass's contract and Wallace's contract (regarded as one of the worst) and get back three expirings. They send that first round pick to get Utah to bite on taking Wallace's contract which allows them to take on the contracts they do take on in the deal.
Charlotte Receives: Eric Gordon, Greg Stiemsma
Charlotte Sends: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Ben Gordon
Reasoning: Charlotte wants scoring and they would be able to get that with Gordon. He could be a potential answer for them especially if he is able to do more in their offense than what he does for the Pelicans. Stiemsma is a rental and the price of doing business.
Utah Receives: Gerald Wallace, Hawks/Nets 1st Rounder 2014
Utah Sends: Andries Biedrins
Reasoning: Utah has been rumored to be willing to facilitate trades and take on more long term deals in order to get more 1st round picks. This would be essentially that. They would take on the Wallace contract which wouldn't hurt them too bad since they are so far under the cap and get another 2014 1st round pick.
