- Great read HERE by Bradford Doolittle. A sneak preview:
The Pelicans' season has to be evaluated in the context of all the injuries. Davis' team-leading minutes total ranks just 56th in the league. When Holiday and Anderson have shared the floor, the Pelicans have outscored opponents by 4.7 points per 48 minutes, according to NBA.com/stats. However, they've played in the same game just 22 times. So the Pelicans have a .500-ish baseline, a collective upward arc on the aging curve and a probable regression to the mean in terms of player availability. New Orleans is in a better place than its record indicates, though there is still plenty of work to do before this franchise becomes a contender.
- Rightly so, Kevin Pelton gushes about Anthony Davis in a wonderful piece HERE.
Imagine that Davis develops into a top-5 scorer, a game-changing defender and a dominant rebounder. The flashes of brilliance he demonstrates on a nightly basis make that easy, if you try. That's Davis' MVP-caliber upside, one he's right on track to reaching.
- Geaux Pels!
