"We're trying to come up with offenses we think will benefit the guys that we have," ... "When you have guys like Jrue, Eric and Tyreke, we're going to be able to play a bit more faster."
"Pelicans coach Monty Williams said earlier this week that he has already been meeting with his assistants to change a significant amount of their offensive sets from last season."
Hate to tell you coach but watching clips of your new guards it has become clear to me that the only set they know is RUN/SLASH/CIRCUS SHOTS, probably the only playbook you'll need is the HIT-BS-YOYO-SI offense , better known as the - Here Is The Ball Son You're On Your Own Shoot It-
I really hate to see the great fans in New Orleans be disappointed, there was a reason why those teams got rid of Holiday and Evans, they can't pass and one of them can't hit the side of a barn ( I took that quote from a fan) and like Vasquez they turn over the ball too much, and here is the worse part coach, they were playing with much better talent than you have, so look for the turnovers to blossom.
If the Pelicans fans thought they had a problem with their guard play last year, this season they will be drinking a few extra beers as they discover a turn over gold mine specially if they don't improve inside.
Not all is lost, the duet will provide many top ten plays for ESPN and that is important for fans, specially with another disappointing season in the horizon.
I look for them to win about 30 games. I'm afraid that 88 million in guards (just about) is not going to help much, that's winning about three more games than last year, the math comes out to about 30 mill a game, if that happens it will probably cost someone his job.
You can bet on that.
As always this is a fans opinion and from what I understand everybody has one and I'm thankful for that.
