- In an interview with WWL, Demps says that Austin Rivers had a rough go of it his rookie season - the first time I've heard either Demps or Monty say that the Austin Rivers Experience has been less than stellar.
Let's call it what it was…he (Rivers) did not play well to start the season. We threw him out to the fire. Eric (Gordon) was hurt and we just threw him out there. Austin had to learn on the fly. In February the light started to click on for him and he started to play better. And then he broke his hand. He was very upset when he got hurt. His care factor is unbelievable and you root for those kind of guys.
- The Daily Comet is operating under the assumption that the Pelicans will only draft somebody that they worked out or interviewed, which I think is interesting. Considering the list of people Demps has had sessions with (Len, Burke, Oladipo, Carter-Williams, Bennett, McLemore), that's almost certainly true if they keep the sixth spot. If they trade down, that's far less guaranteed.
- The Advocate (they've been killing it lately) has a great piece on Victor Oladipo and how he would fit with the Pelicans.
- Another great Advocate profile - this one of Trey Burke. The two notes I had were that the Burke camp seems to be working really hard to sell him as a plus defender and that Burke claims to exchange text messages with Chris Paul regularly.
