Some Hornets news and notes for you this afternoon before the Hornets play the 76ers in the Arena tonight:
More bad news on the injury front as Jim Eichenhofer of Hornets.com reports not only will Anthony Davis still be out recovering from his concussion, but now Austin Rivers has also been ruled out thanks to a sprained left index finger that he suffered yesterday in practice.
Rivers' injury does not appear to be all that serious as, according to John Reid from the T-P, he participated in shootaround and was surprised when the team decided to hold him out. Darius Miller will earn his first start in place of Rivers.
Our old buddy Mason checks in with his latest Hornets Power Rankings over at 247. Everyone's favorite Simpsons villain look-alike, Robin Lopez, lands at the top of the list for his strong play on both sides of the ball for the first three games.
Now a couple things from Brett Koremenos of Hoopspeak, where on Monday, he compared Greivis Vaszquez's improved play to that of a latter-day Jason Kidd, and back on Halloween, made the argument that Anthony Davis should be playing primarily at SF, and should be playing there now.
Lastly, I'll leave you with the latest NBA on ESPN RV commercial, featuring our very own Anthony Davis and Hugo:
Enjoy the game tonight, y'all. Geaux Hornets.
